Warranty Terms for Remanufactured Automatic Transmissions

[RECRO] offers a warranty on remanufactured automatic transmissions against manufacturing defects and parts for a period of 12 months / 50,000 km (whichever comes first) or 24 months / 100,000 km, depending on the case and transmission model. The warranty does not cover the electronic part of the mechatronic unit (ECU/TCM) or other electrical components such as speed sensors, gear selector position sensors, etc.
The warranty is valid for the person or company whose name is indicated on the warranty document. If the vehicle is sold to a third party, RECRO must be informed by email at [email protected] within 7 days.
This warranty does not cover potential towing costs, rental vehicles, fluids, inconvenience, loss of time, commercial loss, property damage, personal injury, or any other accidental or consequential loss or damage.
This warranty does NOT cover damage caused by:
- Excessive, insufficient, or lack of lubricant, or the use of non-compliant lubricant.
- Contamination caused by water, glycol/antifreeze, sand, salt, or any other foreign body.
- Engine software modifications, such as increased engine power (chip tuning, etc.).
- Abnormal use of the transmission, such as overloading, negligence, poor maintenance (see maintenance requirements), damage following an accident, or modification/deterioration due to the use of parts or elements added to or not supplied with the transmission.
- Incorrect installation of the transmission, not complying with the recommendations of the OEMs, manufacturers, or RECRO.
- Malfunctioning of transmission control units, including but not limited to electronic control modules, sensors, wiring, and ABS systems, which may affect the proper operation of the gearbox.
- Failures caused by defective external parts, including but not limited to coolers, cooling fans, other cooling components, dual-mass flywheels, engine or transmission mounts, or worn/misaligned driveshaft elements.
- Special uses of the vehicle, such as towing, which may result in a modification of the warranty period.
RECRO is not responsible for damage due to the natural wear and tear of parts fitted during the period of use.
If RECRO determines that the transmission must be replaced, the allegedly defective gearbox must be returned before a replacement solution is provided.
Warranty work will be carried out at RECRO or by another repairer designated by RECRO. It is the sole responsibility of the customer to pay for this work and to submit a written claim, sending the allegedly defective parts to RECRO for examination and determination of responsibility.
The customer is responsible for the shipping of defective items, subject to the limitations and conditions of this warranty.
No benefits or remedies are available under this limited warranty as long as the invoice for the unit or associated services remains unpaid.
This warranty ends upon the expiration of the period starting from the original invoice date. Any repair or replacement does not extend the warranty. The buyer is responsible for all subsequent defects, regardless of the cause.
The customer and RECRO agree that RECRO's pricing is based on this warranty.

Maintenance Requirements for Remanufactured Automatic Transmissions:

Perform a visual inspection of the car and regular oil level checks.
Maintain the cooling system in good working order.
Transmission maintenance must be performed at RECRO or any other authorized repair center.
Adhere to an oil change interval of a maximum of 60,000 km.

Any unauthorized removal or repair results in the cancellation of the warranty. The customer must inform RECRO before any repair to the transmission. Call +371 65 508 999 or write to [email protected].

Warranty assistance is not provided if any of the aforementioned points have not been observed, preventing the transmission from being repaired at RECRO.
